Drivers, cyclists and local residents are advised of a temporary road closure on Whirley Lane, Henbury.
Road Affected
Whirley Lane, Henbury – from the junction with Chelford Road to the entrance of Fir Tree Farm.
Why is the Road Being Closed?
The closure is required to enable Cheshire East Highways to carry out essential jetting works to maintain the highway drainage network.
When?
Now Monday 22 June 2026
The closure will remain in force for up to 5 days, although it is expected to be in place only for as long as required to complete the works.
Diversion Route
Traffic will be diverted via:
Chelford Road → Pepper Street → Church Lane → Andertons Lane → Whirley Lane

Access Arrangements
- No through access for vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians during the closure.
- Pedestrian access to properties within the closure area will be maintained at all times.
- Emergency service vehicles and residents will be granted vehicular access where it is safe and practicable to do so.
