Planning

Henbury Village is very fortunate to be in such a fantastic location, surrounded by the beautiful rolling Cheshire countryside and just two miles west of Macclesfield, on the edge of the Peak District.

Sadly, we have seen an increase in fly-tipping incidents in and around the village, with many of these involving green waste. While most of us take great pride in our village and its beautiful surroundings, these incidents can spoil the appearance of the area and create additional problems for local landowners.

It is also worth remembering that, by law, landowners are responsible for clearing fly-tipped waste from their land, and failing to do so can result in fines. This can place an unwelcome financial burden on farmers and residents.

How you can help

If you come across fly-tipping, please consider taking a few photographs. These can be really helpful when reporting the incident, particularly in identifying the location and nature of the waste.

If you witness someone fly-tipping, please report it to the local council and/or the police using the 101 service. If possible, make a note of relevant details and take photographs, but please do not approach anyone or put yourself at risk.

Reporting fly-tipping

Cheshire East Council has an easy-to-use reporting tool called TraCE, which can be used to report fly-tipping and other environmental issues.

Every report helps build a clearer picture of the problem and enables the relevant authorities to take action.

Please note that the fly-tipping which has occurred in and around the substation has already been reported to both SP Electricity North West and Cheshire East Council.

By working together and reporting incidents when we see them, we can all help to keep Henbury looking as beautiful as it deserves. Thank you for helping to look after our village and countryside.
