Roy Thornton
It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Roy Thornton after a short illness.
Roy was well known in the village for his commitment and involvement with the community.
From the 2010 Henbury Parish Plan, Roy was the instigator, organiser and fund raiser for the Children's Play Area on the Millennium Green.
As a member of the Henbury Events Committee, he will be remembered for his roles as Quiz organizer, Bingo caller, Barman, new ideas man and for generally keeping order in the committee.
Roy will also be remembered for his help setting up the annual Summer Fete as well as for his tasty hot-dogs.
Henbury will miss him and his friendly face, and we send our deepest sympathies to his wife Jennie and their families.
