Dear Residents,

We have had a number of reports over the Macclesfield/Congleton area of purses being targeted at supermarkets by a male and female.

The couple target shoppers' bank cards by watching a PIN being entered in the store and then ask for directions from shoppers in the car park. Whilst the person is giving the female directions, the male will be entering the person's car and taking cards/money from their handbag.

Please be extra vigilant when shopping and refuse to give directions to any person approaching, the female has been described as eastern european, wearing a beige coat with a fury hood and thick rimmed glasses.

Purse bells are available from the police station

Many thanks
PCSO Jessica Shore
