Councillor Nick Mannion, who is the Ward Councillor for Weston and Ivy, has provided the following update:
"Many of you will have seen comments on facebook this week about a 'safety audit' on the remodeled junction.
So, what happens next? Bellway (who paid for and did the job) now have to come up ASAP with an action plan to deal with the list of issues listed in the audit.
Obviously, some of these will be bigger jobs than others. Their plan along with timescale is expected to be written and shared by the middle of May. Hopefully it will be made public.
The safety audit for the new zebra crossing on Gawsworth Road is still awaited.
It is my understanding that until all major issues have been put right for both jobs, Bellway will not be able to allow any more people move into their new estate off Chelford Road. Therefore, the sooner they sort the issues raised in the audit the quicker they will be allowed to sell their new houses.
