Were You or Your Children Pupils at Henbury School?

Recently we heard from a lady who, along with her brother and sister , was a pupil at St Thomas' C of E Primary School on School Lane Henbury from 1975 until its closure in 1976, after which she and her family moved away from Henbury.

She was aware that the school building was converted to a dwelling but wondered if any photographs were available from the time when the school was open.

We were able to send her a copy of this 36 page booklet "Memories of a Village School" ,published by The Henbury Society in 2014. And, to her delight, she was able to identify herself, Sheila Kiggins, on the second row as well as her siblings in this 1976 photograph of pupils and teachers in the booklet. We wonder if anyone else who was at the school at that time might remember them.

If so, or if you have any other memories of life at the school you'd like to share, or indeed if you would like a copy of the booklet do please get in touch with us at editor@henbury.org
