Last Saturday about twenty local residents gathered on the Green between 10 and 1 o'clock to plant hawthorn, dog rose, blackthorn. hazel, crab apple, elder and rowan saplings provided by the Woodland Trust and the M G Trust itself.
Most of them will grow to give us a lovely natural hedge along the east side of the Green but there were enough to add to the trees already in the southeast corner where it's boggy in wet weather.
Some more were planted in other parts on the woodland as well as gap filling and strengthening the Church Lane hedge in a couple of places.
Thanks a million to all of you who gave your time to make this planting possible ---- it's a magnificent job.
