Henbury Bonfire & Fireworks Are Coming Again This Year!!
Saturday November 5th on the Green
But We Need Some Help Please
The proceeds from this event covers most of the annual maintenance costs on the Green and its success is based on the generous help of many volunteers who give their precious time to make it all work. So if you love to bring the family to the Green, could you please spare some time to help with these Bonfire & Fireworks tasks.
We start with thinning and coppicing of the woodland on Saturday October 15th at 9.45 am to encourage new growth and produce fuel for the bonfire. This mainly involves dragging cut branches to the fire site. Wearing gardening gloves and stout footwear is a good idea and children can help too.
Then on Saturday October 29th we'll be building the bonfire . Start time 10.00 and gloves plus stout footwear also recommended but not suitable for smaller children..
And on Saturday November 5thwe'll be setting things up in the morning from 09.30 , preparing for the arrival of visitors in the afternoon and running the event from 5 pm till 7pm then tidying up and making everything safe.
Oh, and we also need 12 wooden pallets by latest October 29th for the core of the fire so if you've got one or two left behind by the builders please let us know and we'll try to collect them.
