One day during week commencing Monday June 7th Fairway Landscapes Ltd will be relaying the footpath down to the bridge which was badly damaged by floodwater last year. We don't yet know exactly which day it will be but we'll let you know asap. We don't expect the work to prevent you getting on to the Green but, parents please make sure the children keep clear of the area being worked on.
When everyone's had a good swing, climb and balance in the play area or a snack at the picnic bench , why not take a walk on the footpaths cut through the wildflower meadow to see if you can find one of these beautiful purple marsh orchids. You're welcome to pick the buttercups but please don't pick the orchids because we're trying to encourage them to spread throughout the meadow to give us brilliant colour in springtime.
And as you go home take a look at the buzzard, carved from an oak tree and looking quite fierce. It's just been treated with danish oil to prevent the wood from rotting.
