RYA Club of the Year 2016
Did you know that the parish of Henbury has a sailing club?
Well, to be strictly accurate, the clubhouse, grounds, foreshore and jetties are in Henbury, but most of the water (Redesmere) is actually in Siddington.
Earlier this year the club won the prestigious Royal Yachting Association 'Club of the Year' award. This award is given by sailing's national governing body in recognition of how well clubs promote the sport of sailing, encourage people on to the water and make their activities varied and available to the community.
More information about the club can be found on their website.
Their facebook page is also worth a visit.
If you think you might like to try sailing, visit the club on one of their social sailing days (check the website calendar) or look out for their open day in May 2017
