Did you know what a gem we have on our doorstep with Macclesfield Library? It is one of the top in the UK for number of issues — with in excess of 200,000 visitors per annum. The staff work hard to promote the stock with displays and discussions, and also by trying to get a lot of different customers in.

You can join online and renew loans online. They also have lots of online resources which you can access for free with your library membership. Something for everyone, including book and newspaper sites, researching your family history, studying for your driving theory test and lots of student resources for help with homework and studying. Members can:

  • Use a computer for free
  • Borrow up to 20 books for free
  • Download e-books for free
  • Borrow Talking Books for £1.80 for 3 weeks (can cost £25 to buy)
  • Borrow DVDs from £1.75 per week
  • Borrow CDs from 50p per week
