The sun shone, and hundreds of residents and friends and families attended the Jubilee events on Henbury Millennium Green on Friday.
With a magician, lots of fun and games, music, refreshments and a superb birds of prey display – there was something for everyone. The wildflower meadow was in full bloom for guided walks, Girlguiding Henbury and the 24th Macc Scouts showed us what makes young people busy and happy today and Bishop William opened the festivities in style with a message from the Queen.
One slight mishap caused some consternation – when the display falcon flew off and didn't return! However – all was well – as the team had a tracker device and he was retrieved with some tasty morsels.
The evening Hog Roast with some swing music was delicious and provided a great finale.
Our thanks go to The Henbury Events Committee team and all the volunteers who put a huge effort into organising the whole event (and the clearing up afterwards).
You can see lots more pictures of the day at our Henbury Jubilee Gallery.
