Why is the road closed?

The closure is required to allow United Utilities Ltd to carry out urgent works.

When will the closure be in place?

The works are expected to take place from 10 July 2026 to 16 July 2026.

The notice comes into effect on 10 July 2026 and will remain valid for up to 21 days, or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner. If required, the notice may be extended for a further 21 days.

Diversion route

As these are emergency works, the traffic management plan is still being finalised. A signed diversion route will be published as soon as it is available.

Access

Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained wherever it is safe and practical to do so.
