In November last year several local mums, dads and children enjoyed working with some of the M G Trustees to create this lovely natural hazel fence around the picnic bench.
And that gave us the idea of trying to form an informal group of local residents (perhaps called Friends of the Green?) who love this green space in our village, are happy to give some time to keep it in good shape but don't necessarily wish to get involved in administering the Registered Charity (Henbury Millennium Green Trust, Registered Charity No 1072953) which owns the Green.
The next project planned on the Green is on Saturday Morning February 3rd.
It will involve some essential wintertime maintenance such as bramble clearance around newly planted trees, removing grass that's overgrowing the footpath, tidying around the sundial and securing the edging boards around the play area.
There's plenty to do but "many hands make light work"(as the 16th century poet John Howard once said!). So if you can spare a little time from 09.30 on February 3rd we will welcome you with open arms as a Friend of the Green.
Several local residents have already offered to help and we'll be in touch with you directly on this project.
Thanks on advance and hope to see you on Feb 3rd
Best wishes from the M G Trustees
