This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities
Now the Canal & River Trust are delighted to have been awarded over £200,000 of funding from Sport England to support increasing the number of adults aged 55 years and over getting active around our local waterways. Over the next 3 years, the project aims to train 12 active volunteers and develop a programme of activities along Cheshire's canals and rivers.
Macclesfield is one of only 2 pilot sites that they will be working with this year, and they want your help. To make the most of this fantastic opportunity and investment, they want to speak to local residents aged 55 years and over, along with local groups and service providers to create something great for all involved.
To help develop the right programme for Macclesfield, become a volunteer, or just find out more information and share your opinion, drop in during one of the times below on 13th February at the MAC Multi-Activity Centre, Goodall Street, Macclesfield SK11 7BD
