It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a much loved and highly respected Henbury resident, Lady Elizabeth Graham-Smith on January 4th 2021.
Lady Elizabeth and Sir Francis , known to many in the village as Elizabeth and Graham, settled in the Old School House in Henbury in 1981 since when they have both been very active in many aspects of village life.
They met when they were both working with Martin Ryle in 1945-6 in Cambridge in the early days of radio astronomy. She was a talented potter and , during her time in Henbury we remember, amongst many other things, how enthusiastically she helped the Henbury Society to produce its "Memories of a Village School" booklet which traced the history of the home in which she lived. She will be sorely missed by the community.
On behalf of the Henbury community we offer condolences and deepest sympathy to Graham and his family on the loss of this remarkable lady.
