Henbury Online are looking to assist those in the community who are self-isolating due to the spread of COVID-19.

A number of people have already contacted us offering to help others, so we are trying to set up a co-ordinated scheme within Henbury.

We are looking to identify anyone within Henbury who feels they may need some help with tasks such as picking up shopping, collecting prescriptions, posting mail or assistance with any other aspect of their daily life.

We are also looking for additional volunteers, so we can create a register of "Helpers".

This is an informal arrangement to help neighbours. Help will be offered, but must be taken at your own discretion and at your own risk. We cannot guarantee all volunteers are free from COVID-19, and as such are only offering the above assistance. This means shopping will be left on doorsteps with zero/minimum contact. Every safety and hygiene effort will be made.

Henbury Online will try to keep you informed of issues affecting Henbury and Cheshire East that may not be covered in the national media.

The current (17/03/2020) advice from the government is:

Anyone with a fever or persistent cough should stay at home for 7 days if they live alone, or 14 days if they live with others. Anyone who lives with someone displaying symptoms should also stay at home for 14 days.

Everyone should stop non-essential contact with others. This is particularly important for people over 70, those with underlying health conditions and pregnant women. By the weekend, those with the most serious health conditions should be largely shielded from social contact for 12 weeks.

For the latest official advice on the disease, please visit the NHS website.

Please note nobody from Henbury Online will request any form of payment from you. Please be aware of an increase in the number of scams currently in circulation. We will use any information supplied for this purpose only.
