Dance to Health

Dance to Health is a nationwide, falls prevention dance programme for older people. The sessions are led by professional dance artists from leading dance companies, who have been fully trained and qualified in falls prevention exercise methods. They are looking to recruit volunteers and participants for their Macclesfield group.

Volunteering Opportunities
As Dance to Health grows and develops we are recruiting volunteers to help run the local groups. Could you be the person we're looking for? Or why not pass on the information to someone you know who would be a great asset to the Dance to Health family?

Committee
We need a chairperson, secretary and a treasurer to help to run the group, manage finances, make decisions, fundraise and help to spread the word. You can be a committee member whether or not you take part in the dance sessions, but you need to have time to commit to volunteering.

Dance Support Volunteers and Peer Motivators
Maybe you are someone who loves to move? Do you play a sport, take part in dance or have a fitness interest like yoga or Pilates? Peer Motivators are physically active older people who participate in the dance sessions, offering encouragement and support to other group members. Dance Support Volunteers are people aged 18-50 who can draw on their knowledge and experience with movement, dance or fitness to support the dance artist who leads the sessions. You will receive full training and do need to be fit enough to take part.
