The pandemic robbed us of our beloved Bonfire and Fireworks last year but we're all set to bring it back to Henbury Millennium Green this year.
The format may be a bit different to previous years; there'll be more information on that soon.
The proceeds from this event, which were much missed last year, normally covers most of the annual maintenance costs on the Green and its success is based on the generous help of many volunteers who give their precious time to make it all work. So if you can spare some time this year to help us we would be most grateful.
We start with thinning and coppicing of the woodland on Saturday October 9th at 9.45 am to encourage new growth and produce fuel for the bonfire. This mainly involves dragging cut branches to the fire site.
Then on Saturday October 30th we'll be building the bonfire . Start time to be advised.
And on Saturday November 6th we'll be setting things up in the morning from 09.30 , preparing for the arrival of visitors in the afternoon and running the event from 5 pm till 7pm then tidying up and making everything safe.
If you can spare some time on any of those occasions to help we will be most grateful. Just turn up if you can, or even better give us a call at in advance (see below) so we can plan the work most effectively.
