The Green is open again after the installation of a channel drain at the gateway to divert floodwater that runs off Church Lane and on to the Green during heavy rain storms. Over the years this floodwater has has badly eroded the footpath beyond the kissing gate and down to the bridge.
Once the effectiveness of this drain is proven (i.e. at the next torrential storm ) Stage Two will be to restore the eroded footpaths to their original condition.
