Have you heard of the National Garden Scheme?
They help around 3700 garden owners to open their beautiful gardens to the public, sharing their passion and raising impressive amounts of money for charity through entry fees, teas and slices of cake.
They are the most significant charitable funder of nursing charities in the country, donating over £50 million so far to charities such as The Queen's Nursing Institute, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Carers Trust, Hospice UK, Perennial, Parkinson's UK and others.
We are lucky to have 7 of the gardens within 6 miles of Henbury, including:
- "Hathaway" which is open this weekend, and
- "60 Kennedy Avenue" which is open on specific dates in June, and belongs to Bill North who used to be Head of the Parks Department in Macclesfield prior to his retirement.
Please make sure to check full details and opening dates on the excellent NGS website.
